| Rules and Regulations |
- All the students, Teaching and Non-Teaching staff will be members of the Library
- Each students are eligible to take THREE books, Teaching staff FIVE books and Non-teaching staff TWO books. Books will be lent to the members only on production of their identity cards.
- Borrowers are responsible for loss or damage to the books borrowed by them. Every book will be examined as soon as it is returned, and if pages are found missing or if any book is found to be marked, soiled or damaged, the borrower shall be required to replace the book with a new copy or pay such compensation as may be fixed by the PRINCIPAL.
- Borrowers on receiving the books shall examine them before they leave the library and report to the librarian about any damage/missing pages etc., be noticed.
- A student is entitled to keep a book for 15 days from the date of issue. Every book borrowed from the library shall be returned between 10.00 a.m. and 6.00 p.m. It may be re issued only once to the same person for further period of 15, if the particular book is not reserved by any others.
- OVERDUE CHARGES: If books are not returned to the library on the due date, a fine of 50 paise per day per volume for the first 10 days and thereafter Re.1 per day shall be levied.
- Books due for return on holidays can be returned without fine on the next working day.
- Journals will not be issued for reference outside the library premises.
- References books and bound copies of University Examination question papers shall not be lent to be taken home. They can only for used as reference copies.
- All the ID cards must be returned to the librarian when a student leaves the College.

| SECTIONS OF THE LIBRARY |
- STACK ROOM
In the stack room, there are 240 Bookshelves housing the books for lending. The books are classified according to the Dewey Decimal Classification . Bay guides are available for easy access to books. Open access system is followed which goes a long way to help the readers in locating books and making search easy. The book shelves are closed by glassed doors to prevent the books from insects and dust.
- READING HALL
The Reading hall is a spacious area which creates a pleasant atmosphere for reading. It consists of 16 tables with a seating capacity of 64 chairs. Students are permitted to bring books from the stacks and use the reading hall for their reading.
- REFERENCE HALL
A Separate Air-conditioned section is available for Reference books in the Ground floor of the Additional building. In the Reference hall, there are 4413 reference books on all branches of Engineering, Science and, humanities, Encyclopedias and Dictionaries. (General, Science and Technology, Chemical). Reference books are issued for 2 days for home reading and in certain cases not exceeding One week. The reference hall consists of 8 tables with a seating capacity of 48 chairs, exclusively for reference purposes.
- PERIODICAL SECTION
Journals and Periodicals have a separate Air-conditioned section is available for periodicals in the First floor of the Additional building having 8 tables with a seating capacity of 48 chairs. In this section, both technical and Non-technical Journals and Magazines of National and International levels are displayed. The latest of a Journal / Magazine is exhibited outside in the respective shelves of the rack.
- NEWS PAPER SECTION

- REPROGRAPHY SECTION
The College Central Library has two photocopier machines. One is an analog copier (Canon 3225 model) the remaining is digital copier (Toshiba E-studio 16). The above copiers provide Reprography service to the users at a nominal cost. Due to the above service, the users are benefited in getting the photocopy of the required materials from the Library documents for their future study and reference. The damage to the rare collection is also avoided. This service is more helpful to the students for preparing their paper presentations, projects etc...
- BACK VOLUMES SECTION (JOURNALS & MAGAZINES)
To preserve the old collection we have a separate Air-conditioned section of Journals & Magazines in the First floor of the Annexure building having 8 tables with a seating capacity of 48 chairs. In this section, back issues of both technical and Non-technical Journals & Magazines of National and International Levels are available.
- DIGITAL LIBRARY
This section is established for the use of Electronics/CD-ROM sources like GRE, GMAT, TOEFL, ISI codes on CD-ROM etc. are available in the Library. In addition to that we have 3750 CD's and Floppy Disks, 484 Nos of Audio and Video Cassettes in our Library.

- AUTOMATION PROCESS
At the initial stage of automation of our college Library, a personal computer was provided and the database has been created and stored. In the mid 1996, the existing database was modified to LAN environment with 6 systems. Immediately after creation of LAN environment, the complete structure of database came into picture within three months. This is due to the excellent team work of our Library staff. In the mid 1999, a grant of Rs. One Lakh was sanctioned to purchase Barcode printer (Thermal Transfer, model T-300) and a scanner for coding and decoding (Model QS 6000) and their accessories. The pasting of Barcode label work is completed. The job of the issue and return of the books is done through Barcode. At present our Library has 15 systems and their usage are as follows. 1. - SOFTWARE (LIBRARY)
The Software for the College Library is purchased from M/s. Nirmal Institute of Computer Expertise, Trichy. A team of Library professionals developed it. So this software package has all features of the professional requirements. The special feature of this software is the database for articles. The Library Provides OPAC facilities to its users via Author-wise search, Title-wise search, Author + Title-wise search, Subject - wise search, Keyword-wise search, Any word-wise search, Document-wise search, Language-wise search, details of books issued and returned are listed daily and software takes care of the calculation of overdue charges, reservation of books and renewal of books etc. The software has provision to carry message to the users.

- a. Reference Service
Reference service is provided to users which enables the users to reach the required information from the proper documents in time to succeed in their research, project work, paper presentation etc.
- b. Inter Library Loan Service
Our College Library has the Institutional Memberships with the British Council Library, Chennai . If the required material is not available in the Library, we are getting the documents from the above library through Inter Library Loan. Yes! It is the RESOURCE SHARING.
- C. DELNET (Developing Library Networking) services
Inter Library Loan service is also available through DELNET SERVICE, New Delhi. It is a registered society, being promoted by National Informatics Center, Ministry of Information Technology, Govt. of India. The main objectives of DELNET are to promote resources sharing among the member of Libraries. Our Library is one of the members of DELNET and is using the service of the DELNET.
- d. Competitive Guides
A number of guides and books are available in the Competitive books section for preparation of competitive examinations like GATE, TOEFL, GRE, GMAT, Civil service exams., Bank exams, and other similar examinations.
- e. Internet Service
Internet service is also provided to our users to up to date their knowledge. The users are using this service for searching jobs, downloading articles from the online sources like ACM digital library, IEEE, IEE etc. There is a proposal to provide Additional 50 nos of systems to this center with in a short period.
